Senior Consultant/
Director – Health and Disability Analytics

Full-time/part-time, Sydney

About the opportunity

Our Health & Disability is expanding, and we are seeking an experienced senior consultant to manage clients and support business growth. You’ll have a background in the health sector delivering analytical solutions or policy and program evaluation. The position can be either full time or part time (and we’re open to a range of part-time arrangements starting from three days per week).

This role offers a nice mix of strategy, client engagement and hands-on project management. As a senior member of the Health and Disability team, you’ll work with our other senior consultants to identify new opportunities in the local market, and provide end-to-end support with project management – from planning, scoping and directing projects, right through to determining pricing, resourcing and delivering outputs.

The work we do in the health sector makes a difference. The team works across the public and private sectors, helping our clients to make data-driven decisions that seek to improve their systems and services, and ultimately make a positive impact for communities. Our clients are focused on balancing the need for financial health, meeting community expectations and achieving better outcomes for people. Ideally, you’ll share this desire for improvement, and bring empathy and understanding to how you engage with clients and their stakeholders.

About you

You’ll have at least eight years’ experience in an analytics-focused role within the public or private health sector. Experience working in a consulting environment with direct exposure to clients will be an advantage, although candidates who have been working internally in the health sector with good industry knowledge and connections will also be considered.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need the following skills and attributes:

  • Creative and innovative thinking, with confidence in your ability to identify opportunities and sell services and new ideas to clients
  • Ability to focus on the client and take the time to form deep client relationships, listen to client needs, and provide advice and solutions that meet their objectives
  • Deep understanding working directly and/or indirectly with predictive modelling, statistics, machine learning or evaluation systems
  • Experience leading projects or streams of work on large projects, some experience with leading people, and an enthusiasm for supervising and training junior team members
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to assimilate information quickly and handle multiple priorities under pressure or within tight timescales
  • A passion for making a difference using data.
